Little Ladybug DesignsHow to Decorate for your Halloween Party:For most of your decorations you will be able to find in your Halloween decorations aile at your local discount or party store. For your main party table you can purchase a black plastic tablecloth, and cover it with a creepy, looks like fish netting just much thinner, type of cloth. You can purchase either orange plates, napkins, cups, etc, or you can buy some with any Halloween theme on them, like pumpkins, skeletons. Remember this is a fun theme so have some fun while you are shopping for your decorations.
A Spooky Halloween Centerpiece:Materials Needed:Clear Plastic Tray (long enough for the center of your table)
2 Bags Neutral colored craft sand (enough to fill the tray, and some extra)
3 Table Tombstones
3 Mini Pumpkins
1 Bag of Halloween Kids Toys (The one with Skeletons in it)
1 Bag of Creepy Crawly Bugs and Spiders
1 Bag of Mini Pumpkins (found in the craft area)
1 Bag of Fall leaves (found in the craft area)
1 Bag of Spider webbing
Here to put together your Spooky Centerpiece:
Place the clear plastic tray in the center of your party table, fill it with the neutral craft sand, leaving a little extra sand for later. Now, place the table tombstones, in the tray, anchoring them in the sand. Place some of the leaves at the bottom of the tombstones, and around the outside of the tray, place these like they have just fallen out of the trees. Using the skeletons from the kids toy packet, place two as if they are coming out of the sand, with the some of the remaining sand cove they half way making them look as if they are coming out of the ground, poor over the skeletons. Lay one of skeletons flat on the sand and cover him with the sand, leaving his arms and toes or legs showing through the sand. Also have one leaning up against his tombstone, with his feet buried in the sand to give him support. Next using the bags of creepy crawly bugs, place the spiders, and all of the other insects in the bag, around the tombstones, even have a spider crawling over one of the buried skeletons. Also place a few of the mini pumpkins around the centerpiece. Next using the spider webbing, tare a piece for the large piece, and stretch it over the tomb stones, pumpkins, and skeletons. You don't have to use everything in the bags, you can use the rest to decorate your party room.
Menu Ideas:You could make a Grave Yard Cake:
Ingredients you will need:2 Pkg. Chocolate Cream filled Cookies
1 Large Box of Vanilla Pudding
1 container of Whipped Topping
1 pkg of Gummy Worms
1 pkg of Sugar Wafers (Tombstones)
1 tub of Black Decorating Gel
1 pkg of Candy Pumpkins
1 Large Zipper Food Bag
This is enough ingredients to fill a 9x13” baking pan, if you are doing a smaller cake adjust your ingredients.
First taking your chocolate cream filled cookies, placing them in a strong zipper bags, and smash them using either a rolling pin, or a small hammer. This is great for the kids to do while you are mixing up the pudding, according to the directions on the package, next fold in a cup of the whipped topping. Now poor half of the smashed cookies the bottom of a 9x13” cake pan, making sure the bottom of the pan is covered with the cookies.
Next pour the pudding mixture over the top of the cookie crumbs, covering all of the cookie crumb crust. Using the remaining smashed cookies, pour over the top of the pudding, making sure the pudding layer is all covered. Put into your refrigerator to let pudding set.
While you are waiting for your Grave Yard cake to set up, you can take your black decorating gel, and the wafer cookies and put RIP, or the names of your guest on the wafers. You will not use all of the cookies for this. Set them aside for the gel to set up a little.
Now right before your guest arrive, put your Grave Yard cake together. Place the tombstones with the names facing right side up, into the cake. Place the gummy spiders all around the cake, even have some crawling over the side of the cake. Also place the candy pumpkins around the cake, in a pleasing manner.
Drinks: You can serve a Apple Cider/Juice, or a red Fruit Punch, for a fun surprise, place a gummy worm in an ice cube tray. Then cover the gummy worms with either, the Apple Cider/Juice, Fruit Punch, or plan water. For a fun party surprise, place an ice cube in each party guest cup, and let the fun begin.
Party Activities:For a Halloween Themed Party, you can plan many activities, here are a few to get you started. Some fun activities to try is, bobbing for apples, but some mini pumpkins, colored markers, enough for each guest and let them decorate their own pumpkin, to take home with them. You could also have a fun hay ride around town, would all be great fun for your Halloween Party.
You can play Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin: Materials you will need:1 Real Large Size Pumpkin
1 Black Marker
1 Black Piece of Construction Paper
Small piece of tape
To get started you will need to wash the pumpkin to remove any left over dirt, let it dry completely before doing the next step. After your pumpkin is dry using the black marker, draw on the eyes, and the mouth of your pumpkin, and color them in completely. Do Not draw on the nose. Now, using the black construction paper, draw and cut out the nose of your pumpkin, set the aside until your party. On the day of your party, place a piece of tape on the back of the nose, and play just like you would play the pin the tale on the donkey game.
